In-Kind Donations/Volunteering

Together, we can serve young writers as they grow into leaders of their generation. Now is the time to join Girls Write Pittsburgh as emerging young writers in our communities grow their voices.

Would you like to support Girls Write Pittsburgh through an in-kind donation of goods or services?

Join Second Block Studio (the designer of our fantastically fun logo) and Givecamp (the team behind our website) as in-kind donors.

Thanks to Pittsburgh Arts & Lectures two of our talented young writers enjoyed an evening with Roxane Gay.

Other in-kind donations include: Fox’s Pizza Den Brookline and Eat’n Park Hospitality Group.

Would you like to host a Girls Write Pittsburgh workshop?

Brookline Teen Outreach Center proudly hosts weekly workshops and was host to our first quarterly event. Weekly workshops happen each Tuesday night at Assemble in Garfield!

Are you an author or writer who would like to lead a workshop?

Local author Andrea Laurion hosted our first quarterly event where all-female local comedy team Frankly Scarlett performed.

Allegra Johnson, Emily Mohn-Slate, Laurie Arnold, Nichole Neumaier, Joan Cotter, Ebony McQueen-Harris, Andrea Laurion, and Sheena Carroll led workshops in genre-specific exhibition spaces at our April event, Girls Write the Museum at the Carnegie Museum of Art.

We’d also like to thank our program mentors and friends in the community for their continuing support:

Chatham University MFA Program, Carnegie Mellon University Department of English, Creative Nonfiction magazine, Autumn House Press, Awesome Pittsburgh, the City of Pittsburgh Department of Innovation & Performance, Barrelhouse, Emily Levenson, Sarah Short, Natalie Snyder, Cheryl Werber, Nichole Neumaier.
